For centuries, Goat’s Milk has been renowned for it’s skin care benefits. Cleopatra is famed for her beauty and milk baths. So what are the benefits of goat’s milk soap?
Goat’s milk soap is good for your skin because it is rich in skin nourishing proteins, vitamins, minerals and moisturizers. More importantly, these nutrients are easily absorbed by our skin for maximum benefit!
At The Soap Haven, we use only fresh goat’s milk is from a single source. All our goat’s milk is from a family-run farm where the goats live happily in clean countryside. These healthy goats produce milk that is extremely rich in nutrients. This is superior to many commercial “goat’s milk” products that use powdered milk which has lost much of it’s skincare nutrients through heating and drying.
Here are some important facts that make The Soap Haven’s Goat’s Milk Soap so good.
Gentle and Effective Cleansing
Typical commercial soaps and skin cleansers contain harsh chemicals including alcohols, parabens, SLS, synthetic colourings and fragrances. The Soap Haven’s Goat’s Milk Soap contains only 4 all natural base ingredients: saponified* soybean oil, coconut oil, fresh goat’s milk and palm oil – that’s it! For the different varieties such as lavender, we add only the necessary essential oils or in the case of our honey or oatmeal soaps, pure raw honey and Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Oats. Everything is good enough to eat! Compare that with your chemical body wash!
Moisturize and Hydrate
Moisturization and hydration are different. Moisturization is the act of creating a barrier to lock in moisture. Think of saran wrapping a sandwich to keep it moist. Most commercial moisturizers use a petroleum-based sealant to seal moisture into your skin. Think coating your skin with petroleum to block water going out…but also coming in.
Goat’s milk soap is so special because it not only moisturizes but actually hydrates you skin! The goat’s milk and glycerin in our soap aids your skin to attract moisture and hold it! The end result? Hydrated and moisturized skin that is softer, firmer with reduced lines and wrinkles caused by dehydrated skin.
Gentle and Natural Exfoliation
Goat’s milk helps in skin renewal. It contains alpha-hydroxy acids which loosen dead skin cells, helping to remove them in order to reveal healthy, youthful skin. All this is done without harsh beads to scrape your skin.
Skin Nutrition and Protection
Bathing with goat’s milk is like taking multi-vitamins for your skin! With over 50 nutrients including vitamins A, B1, B6, B12, C, E, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and glycerin, your skin will thank you for it! The antioxidants in goat’s milk also help neutralize free radicals that cause wrinkles and dry skin. Woohoo!
Finally, all this goodness is easily absorbed. It would not be much good if all these benefits were only skin deep! Our skin is the body’s first and largest protective barrier from harmful exposure. It’s job is to block foreign substances from entering our bodies. However goat’s milk is able to penetrate the epidermis as it is made up of fatty acids that pass the skin’s filter test! This ability to be absorbed into the skin is crucial to delivering all the goodness where it is most needed.
