General Application Tips of Balms

  • Apply after bathing/washing for extra hydration while water is still trapped under the skin for great effect.
  • Apply liberally and frequently – Apply body balm as often as needed on any area of irritated, itchy, inflamed skin. External use only.
  • Apply gently in the direction of the hair growth. Never rub up and down vigorously as this could trigger itching, block hair follicles or create more heat in the skin.
  • Do not leave balm in high heat areas as balms are heat sensitive and will melt under high temperatures. Leave at room temperature for a balm that is not too hard nor too soft for easy application.

Application tips for Eczema sufferers:

  • When introducing anything new, always start with a patch test (i.e. on a small area of skin) on your skin to see if you have any allergic reaction.
  • After cleansing with our all natural soaps, dry affected areas and coat a thin layer over the skin to protect the skin during the course of any activities.
  • If hands are the affected areas of eczema, and you need to frequently wash your hands due to cooking or other activities, use our himalayan salt soap as a gentle cleanser and use gloves to protect your hands after applying it on affected areas for preparation of food.
  • You can apply as and when needed and as many times a day especially after washing and drying for protection.
  • Before bed time, apply the balm again to affected areas to keep your skin protected and moist during sleep and allow your skin to heal overnight
  • Continue to use the balm, even when the eczema has improved as this will help prevent flare ups.

Natural Healing Properties of Beeswax, Shea Butter, Organic Sunflower Oil for Eczema and Skin Irritation

Beeswax is great for your skin

  • Did you know that Beeswax provides skin with natural moisture and glow?
  • Beeswax's anti-allergenic and anti-inflammatory properties soothe easily irritated skin, making it one of the best skin care ingredients for those who suffer from allergies or other skin problems like rosacea or eczema. It also helps to heal minor cuts, wounds, abrasions and even insect bites.
  • Beeswax is anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic, contains Vitamin A and provides long-lasting moisturising by locking moisture into the skin. Vitamin A helps in collagen deposition under your skin, prevents wrinkles and is anti-aging.
  • Unlike many balms that use petrochemicals such as petroleum jelly, our protective and healing balm and lotion bar is true to its natural source for healing and treatment.

Properties of Organic Sunflower Oil

  • Organic Sunflower oil is used for its 0 comedogenic rating (i.e. does not clog pores) as it allows your skin pores to breath and yet creating a protective barrier. It therefore is great as a balm that protects dust, dirt, sweat and bacteria from entering under any broken/damaged skin.
  • The main ingredient of Organic Sunflower oil in this balm contains linoleic acid (Omega-6 fatty acid) which is one of the main components required to form the fatty membranes (or lipids) that keep our skin moist and supple. It is essential for a protective permeability barrier for the skin! Our body does not produce that so the best way is to have it in your skincare!
  • Organic, GMO-Free Sunflower oil means it contains NO pesticides or fumigation have been used on our ingredient which means no pesticides, so no toxic chemicals go onto your skin!

How Shea Butter Helps Your Skin

  • Highly moisturising Shea Butter helps dry or cracked rough skin smoothen and recover naturally.
  • It is an amazing oil to use during the cold, dry winter months.
  • It’s heavy on the skin after applying so you only need the tiniest bit.
  • Forms a protective barrier on the skin and reduces inflammation, due to the oleic, stearic, palmitic and linoleic acids (fatty-acids) to protect and nourish skin to reduce wrinkles.
  • Aids in the skin’s natural collagen production that protect and nourish the skin to prevent drying and premature aging.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that can help reduce free radical damage and slow down the aging process of your cells, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

How long does a soap bar last?

Our soap bars last about 40-50 washes and for about four weeks (based on an average person who showers once a day). It all depends on your personal routine, how you store the soap, as well as the size of bar you purchase — obviously, larger ones last longer. Even the amount of natural oils in the soap can affect its lifespan, but three-to-four weeks is a good estimate.

Fun fact — we have a customer who has been using one bar of Tea Tree Soap for her face twice a day, and it has lasted over a year!

How should I store the soap?

Soap don’t really have an expiry date, but how you store them can extend or shorten the “expiry”.

For a bar you’re actively using, we recommend you purchase the Bamboo Charcoal Soap Pouch or our Naturally Anti-Mould Pinewood Soap Dish. This extends the lifespan of your soap by draining water after use and preventing it from becoming slimy and soft in a puddle of water.

You should keep unused bars out of humidity, so we don’t recommend storing them in the bathroom where steam can damage the soap’s integrity. This will prevent moisture getting into the soap so it will last longer — up to one year!

Do you have soaps in liquid form?

No, not at the moment. Liquid soaps require loads of chemical preservatives to give them shelf life. We try to have our soaps in the most natural form — without synthetic chemicals — but we are exploring options in all natural liquid soaps for the future.

Can these soaps be used for babies?

Yes! Our soap bars are very suitable for babies as they are all-natural and chemical-free! For babies, you should opt for are unscented bars with no essential oils. We’ve already handpicked this range for you — see it here.

Are your products halal?

No, they’re not halal certified, but the only animal ingredient used is goat milk. Our soap is all-natural, not animal-tested, contains no artificial chemicals, no petro-chemicals, no synthetic oils, and are made from vegan oils.

  • Our Organic soaps and Olive Oil Based soaps are plant-based and is also made from GMO-Free oils and organic oils.
  • Our Goat Milk range is the only soap with an animal ingredient — 25 % fresh goat’s milk.
